The year 2018 marked the last season that the Las Vegas 51s played at Cashman Field. As of 2019, the baseball team will be proud to name the new Las Vegas Ballpark in Downtown Summerlin their new home! In addition to constructing the 10,000 seat stadium, Summerlin developer Howard Hughes Corp. is enriching the area for one 14-story, 267-room hotel too. Since we think this is pretty important news for the Las Vegas community and for anyone interesting in tasting that luxury Vegas lifestyle, we’ve decided to use our Las Vegas Lifestyle post this January to explore this new Summerlin Hotel and all the change this area will be seeing in the upcoming year… Read on and find out more!
A New Home…
The new home to the Las Vegas 51s - the Las Vegas Ballpark - is in construction as we speak. Located close to the intersection of South Town Center Drive and West Sahara Avenue, this $150 milion project is meant to take the place of Cashman Field - the team’s home stadium since 1983.
On about 4.3 acres of land just south of this glorious stadium in the works, the Summerlin Developer Howard Hughes Corp. - developer in charge of the stadium - is also building a new, 267-room hotel! This hotel, situated right across the Summerlin Mall, will without a doubt be an important addition to the vibrant Vegas family of hotels and hospitality businesses. And with everything else the area already has to offer, the hotel’s perfect placement right in between it all makes it hard to imagine that it won’t enter the market with a boom.
Regarding all these things that the area has to offer, we’ve already mentioned the Las Vegas Ballpark and the Downtown Summerlin Mall - a shopping center and an entertainment district that houses over 150 shops, bars and restaurants as well as one Regal Cinemas movie theater. But next to these two and surrounding the new Summerlin developer hotel is a whole pile of other local amenities. For instance, the City National Arena - headquarters and training facility for the NHL team Vegas Golden Knights - is within walking distance, and so is the famous Red Rock Resort, a 796-room hotel stretching over 64 acres of land. Since the new Summerlin developer hotel won’t be featuring a casino, the Red Rock Resort is the place you should be turning to if you’re looking to add gaming to the set of experiences you’re expecting from Las Vegas. The resort’s enormous casino offers over 2,700 Slot Machines and Video Poker Machines, countless Table Games, such as Blackjack, Craps, Roulette and Baccarat, as well as Sports and Race betting.

Enriching Vegas
Not much is yet known about the full scope of features the new Summerlin developer hotel will have, but what we do know is that it will cover 4.3 acres of land, that it will have 267 rooms and 14 floors; we know that it will include numerous restaurants, bars and a spa on the roof, and that its location makes it perfect for just about any kind of Vegas trip!
The representatives of the Summerlin developer that is building this new hotel have recognized a growing demand for hotels in Vegas without gambling offers. This new project is thus designed to meet this demand: the hotel will only offer accommodation, entertainment and spa options, but will be at a walkable distance from a place that includes the gambling aspect - the Red Rock Resort.
Their idea with this is to also attract people travelling with their families, visiting their relatives in Summerlin or simply looking for a more quiet and peaceful place to stay in. As the hotel and its surrounding area cover pretty much every aspect of the luxury Vegas lifestyle we’d all love to experience, they believe that those looking for anything that the hotel itself might not have on offer will surely be able to find it within walking reach.
For example, those who might be looking to paint gambling into the picture will have no difficulty doing so in the nearby Red Rock Resort… Or of course, online - at Jackpot Capital!
